
A Special Offences Court, Ikeja, Lagos, has dismissed the no-case-submission applications filed by two oil marketers, Yusuf Yahya Kwande and Osahon Asemota, and ordered them to open their defence in alleged fraud.
Other defendants ordered to answer the case fraud are, Trafigua Behee BV, Trafigura PTE, Mettle Energy and Gas Limited, Rembrandt Limited and Jill Engineering and Oil Services Limited.
The Police Special Fraud Unit, arraigned the defendants before court presiding over by Justice Mojisola Dada over a petition written by Nadabo Energy Limited
They are facing three count charge bordering on conspiracy and receiving stolen property before the court.

The court affirmed that prosecution has established a prima facie case against all the defendants.
The judge said upon review of applications of all defendants, there is need for them to explain their role in allegations preferred against them by the prosecution.
Justice Dada adjourned the matter to 4th October, 2022, for opening of defence case.
