
The Inspector General of Police, IGP, has arraigned a street urchin, Ganiyu Aminu, before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court sitting in Yaba, for allegedly conspired to disturb the peace of the Ayobo Community.
Aminu was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun over allegedly conducted himself in a disorderly manner which caused the people of the neighbourhood to be in apprehension of reasonable fear.
While arraigning the defendant, the prosecution counsel, Mr. Morufu Animashaun told the court that the defendant forcefully entered No 34, Ferguson Osagie Street, Ayobo, without lawful permission.
The prosecutor also told the court that Aminu entered the property managed by one Hassan Alli on behalf of the Soremekun’s family in Ayobo without lawful permission, and injured Alli on his toe.
His offence according to Police, contrary to Section 412, 44, 52 and 173 of the Criminal Law Cap C17 Vol.3 Laws of Lagos State 2015.

Also his offence contravene provisions of Section 168 (d) of the Criminal Law Ch. C17 Vol. 3 Laws of Lagos State 2015 and is punishable under Section 168 (2) of the Criminal Law Ch. C17 Vol. 3 Laws of Lagos State 2015.
Following his plea of not guilty to the four counts charge preferred against him, Magistrate Olatunbosun granted him bail of #500,000.00 in like sum with two sureties.
The court ordered that one of the sureties must be a land owner within the jurisdiction of the court. And that the sureties must provide three years tax clearance.
The Chief Magistrate further ordered that address of the sureties be verified by the prosecution and subsequently adjourned the case to January 16, 2023.
