As part of measures to ensure speedy dispensation of justice in Lagos, the administration of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu is to oversee a digital reform of courtrooms in the state.
Speaking during a news briefing at the Ministry of Justice, Alausa, the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN, said that the reforms which would take place next year would make the Lagos courtrooms first class in Africa.
The attorney-general noted that the Administration of Criminal Justice Law would be amended to tackle various criminal activities in the state.
He said that the new laws such as the Victims Rights Law and Administration of Civil Justice Law were being enacted to cover various lapses in the justice sector.
Mr. Onigbanjo also revealed that the adminstration would enact a law to criminalise the keeping of dangerous animals as pets by individuals in the state.
He said it would soon be submitted to the Lagos State House of Assembly to be passed into law.
The law is sequel to the capture and tranquilizing of a two-year-old lion kept in a residential property in Ikoyi, on November 18.
