Justice Jane Inyang of the Federal High Court sitting in Kano has fixed January 28, 2022 to deliver ruling on the application filed by the suspended Chairman of Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, Muhuyi Rimin-Gado, following criminal allegation brought against him
The judge fixed the date after hearing arguments from parties in the suit.
Rimin-Gado, who was suspended as chairman of the commission, had on October 12, 2021 filed an ex-parte application for an interim injunction restraining the IGP and Commissioner of Police in Kano from investigating, arresting or intimidating him.
The former chairman of the anti-graft commission, through his counsel, S.A. Danazumi, also joined the Speaker of the House of Assembly, as well as Accountant-General of Kano State, from using the IGP and CP to investigate, arrest or intimidate him.

At the resumption of hearing on the application, counsel to the IGP and CP, Superintendent of Police, S.O. Ekwue, argued that the applicant had not established any evidence to prove an infringement on his right.
SP Ekwue affirmed the legal authority bequeathed the police under the law to investigate suspect and prosecute where necessary.
Although Rimin-Gado counsel argued that police action contravenes the order of Kano State High Court on the subject matter, counsel to the police insisted that while the earlier matter dwells on allegation of misconduct and misappropriation, the matter before the court basically concerns forgery of medical certificate.
SP Ekwue, therefore, urged the court to dismiss the application to enable the police continue and conclude investigation against Rimin-Gado.
On his part, counsel to first, second, third and fourth respondents, W.A. Wada, equally urged the court to refuse the application in the interest of justice.
