Witness Told Court How Lifeless Body of a Rape Student Was Discovered

A witness, Mrs Opeyemi Stowe, has told a Kwara State High Court, how the
late 300-level student of the University of Ilorin, UNILORIN, Blessing Omowunmi Olajide, lifeless and naked body was found in a sitting room in
Tanke area of Ilorin.

The late Blessing was robbed, raped
and murdered by some suspects on June 2nd, this year.

The suspects/defendants are Abdulazeez Ismail, Ajala Moses
Oluwatimileyin (aka Jacklord), Oyeyemi Timileyin Omogbolahan,
Abdulkarim Shuaib (aka Easy), Kareem Oshioyemi Rasheed (Rashworld),
Abdullateef Abdulrahman, Daud Bashir Adebayo (aka Bashman) and Akande Taiye Oladoja.

In her evidence-in-chief Mrs. Opeyemi, who claimed that the deceased was her second cousin, told the court that the deceased was living with one Dr. Dupe Shittu.

She added that Dr Shittu’s became curious on the said day, when the late
wumi’s phone number was not reachable, the development which made the family member to launch a search team for her whereabouts.

Mrs Opeyemi explained that Dr Shittu called her on that day that Omowumi’s phone number was not reachable and that there and then two of Dr Shittu’s kids and her went to their house but they met the door locked from inside.

She noted that when the door was open they saw the lifeless body of Blessing on the floor.

The witness said when the police officers were invited they came with a photographer who took pictures of the deceased and she also took some pictures made recordings with her phone.

The witness added that she printed the pictures she took by her phone
as well as a letter of compliance and handed over same to the Department of State Service.

Attempt by the prosecution led by the state Attorney General and
Commissioner of Justice, Salman Jawondo to present the photographs and document as exhibits, was opposed by the defence teams.

In a short ruling, the presiding judge, Justice Ibrahim Yusuf overrun their objection and admit the materials in evidence.

The matter will continue tomorrow
